how long the HCG shot stays in your system? I know I could have been poas from the day after the shot to watch the false positive disappear, but that was way more stress than I needed this week.
I ask because my poor bbs are still sore and changing in colour (darker)- which I know [...]

Cycle #2- 6dpo

I think I’ve discovered the cure for the agony of the tww.
All it requires is that you start a new university degree and move house. Presto! No idea what day of the week it is, let alone what day of your cycle.
This week is orientation, so I’ll have to go into the uni for three [...]

I was flat on my back for three hours yesterday afternoon. It hurt to walk, to roll over, to move.
So I wasn’t really surprised when the u/s today confirmed that I’ve ovulated.
Went ahead with the second IUI. Q. stuck around for this one and had to deal with two middle-aged nurses wanting to give him [...]

Four or five eggies waiting to pop. (Quote from the nurse who did the IUI- “How big is your house?!”)
A uterine lining that is “perfect” to quote my fs.
An awesome set of swimmers from Q. (seriously, he’s into the over achieving too it seems- 40 million post-wash, with greater than 95% motility, all of them [...]

So I had the HCG shot this morning.
And this afternoon, since it was a lovely clear cool day (in the middle of August?!), I decided I might as well go for a run since I won’t be allowed to do so for the next two weeks (and hopefully longer than that). Nothing major- just 5 [...]

Thanks for all of your advice. I really appreciate it. Q. and I had a long talk yesterday. I explained all of the options. Q. thought about it for a while.
“Even if we cancel this cycle, we’re going to have the same problem again next month, aren’t we?” he asked. “You were already on the [...]

So you know the appointment isn’t going to go as you’d hoped when your fs walks in, sits down, and, unprompted, starts giving you the “risk of multiples and selective reduction” talk.
It turns out my ovaries weren’t satisfied with getting two eggies ready to go. Nope. Like the Canadian Olympic team (I am really starting [...]

Day 16 Cycle #2- woo hoo!

There’s no other title that is appropriate for this post. I am just SO excited. It turns out my ovaries are part of the Canadian Olympic team and they were just waiting for the weekend to get things rolling!
Went to the clinic this morning- one follicle is at 15, and another is at 17! My [...]

Day 14 Cycle #2- under achieving

“Did your doctor change the level of your drugs?” asked the ultrasound tech while she was scanning.
“Yes,” I replied.
“I can tell,” she said.  “Before, they were like the Canadian Olympic team. They were having a good time but we weren’t getting any results.”
I thought it was a rather apt analogy (if a little unfair to [...]

Day 12 Cycle #2- stalled again

The title of my post is perhaps not entirely accurate. Some of my follicles grew over the last two days- the little ones. But the big ones on both ovaries that were measuring 10/11…are still measuring 10/11.
My fs is still chipper. Still thinks I’m ‘cooking along’. But he’s increased my Puregon because, as he said, [...]
